Data Analyst I

Location: Remote
Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $60,000 to $60,000 annually

position overview

As the Data Analyst on our Product Team and reporting to the Director, Product Management, you will be responsible for processing data to be used in our client engagements. As a Data Analyst I, you are a key resource in assisting with acquiring necessary data for engagements and processing data received so that it is in a readily usable format based on the engagement’s scope of work. You will work closely with other members of the Product and Client Delivery teams and clients, brokers and other outside parties as needed. Your role and responsibility may change over time as the organization evolves.

Essential duties + responsibilities

  • Facilitate timeliness, consistency and efficiency in processing data from disparate data sources

  • Utilize technology to analyze data from applicable systems to review data processes, identify issues, and determine actions to resolve or escalate problems that require data, system, or process improvement

  • Verify accuracy of table changes and data transformation processes, testing changes prior to deployment as appropriate

  • Maintain documentation related to disparate data sources and update lookup tables, data definitions, and formatting changes as required

  • Ensure data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data

  • Utilize analytical skills to develop, maintain, standardize ad hoc reporting processes in support of client deliverables and product development research

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to understand business needs/issues, troubleshoot problems, conduct root cause analysis, and develop cost effective resolutions for data processing

  • Provide input into data governance initiatives to enhance current systems, ensure development of efficient application systems, influence the development of data policy, and support overall corporate and business goal

  • Recommend and implement enhancements that standardize and streamline processes, assure data quality and reliability, and reduce processing time to meet client expectations

  • Communicate progress and completion to project teams, identifying and escalating roadblocks that impact delivery schedules

  • Follow company policy and procedures to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with established security standards and best practices

  • Collaborate on internal research and development projects as requested

  • Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS + DESIRED Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required; prior data and analytics experience preferred

  • Proficiency and experience with various Microsoft Office programs; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of SQL or other data analysis tools; experience with video conferencing and other modern communication methods

  • Proven ability to quickly adapt to, and manage, multiple priorities, projects and/or deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with team members across an organization

  • Ability to translate complex data scenarios across a wide variety of team member backgrounds

  • Superior attention to detail, time management, analytical, organizational, investigative and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communicator comfortable with working directly with external and internal parties

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is a remote position within approved states. This job operates in a professional office environment, whether in person or remotely. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. Equipment will be provided to you.
